Jeff Scheel

Jeff Scheel has over 30 years of human resources experience in the public and private sector. He has served as a consultant to management, bringing HR solutions to over 125 companies in the tri-state area.

He has extensive experience in the development of the human resources role within organizations, labor and employee relations, organizational assessment and succession planning, recruitment, and selection, employee development and training, workplace diversity initiatives, safety and regulatory compliance, human resources information systems, performance management and compensation and benefit systems.

Prior to joining PeopleFirst Hr Solutions, Jeff served 10 years as a senior vice president and general manager with Lee Hecht Harrison, one of the nation’s largest career transition firms and was vice president of human resources for the G. Heileman Brewing Company. As a member of the executive team at Heileman, he was involved in several business acquisitions, mergers and consolidations. Prior to his 16 years at Heileman, Jeff held human resource-related positions with the University of Wisconsin-Extension, St. Croix County and the Wisconsin Job Service.

He also has over 10 years experience in business development activities and executive services, having been involved as a principle in a number of small business startups, real estate ventures and partnerships.

Jeff has help leadership roles in numerous community organizations, including chair of a national business advisory council, president of the La Crosse Area United Way board of directors, state and local chair of the Job Service Employer Committee, and chair of the Western Wisconsin Private Industry Council. He also serves on the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse’s Chancellor’s Community Council.

In addition, Jeff is a member of La Crosse Rotary North, and is currently an active supporter of  NASA, DU, North American Water Fowl Association, Boys and Girls Club of Barron County, Meals on Wheels and United Fund for the Arts and Humanities.

Jeff started his business career in 1973 after graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Stout with a degree in Business Administration.
