Mike McGinnis

Mike McGinnis has over 30 years of human resources experience in the steel, paper, metals and utility industries.  He has served as chief spokesperson in labor agreement negotiations, advocate in arbitration, labor strategist and responsible for development of key management staff.
His experience encompasses both large and small to mid-size company’s.  Those company’s include United States Steel Corporation, largest US based steel maker,  LTV Steel Company, 4th largest US based steel maker at that time and Reynolds Metals Company, a Fortune 50 company during his tenure.   His experience with small to mid-size company’s include Wausau Paper Company and Dairyland Power Cooperative, both Wisconsin based.  During his career he has managed the closure of a large steel industry operation (1,400 employees) and the startup of a paper mill for Wausau Paper Company.  Upon graduation from college in 1978 he worked for the Wisconsin State Job Service in LaCrosse, Wisconsin.
Mike has extensive experience in strategic planning, labor and employee relations, manpower development, safety, diversity, compensation, profit enhancement, staffing, training, teams and participative management, benefits, security and workers compensation.
Mike has been a featured panelist for the Pulp and Paper Manufacturing Association and served as Chairperson of the Iron Ore Industry labor relations group in Northern Minnesota.  He is active with the North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association and has competed on a national level.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and resides in Northern Minnesota.
