The knowledgeable and dedicated team at PeopleFirst HR Solutions in La Crosse, WI is looking for a Human Resources Intern to assist in Human Resource related projects and administrative functions.

The successful candidate will be a Junior or Senior at a 2-year or 4-year university in the La Crosse area, with at least two semesters left before graduation.  In order to be considered, candidates must be pursuing an Associate Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Management, Communications, or other applicable degree and must be available to work 8-20 hours a week during the semester and up to 36 hours during the summer.

Successful candidates MUST be organized and able to handle multiple projects with conflicting deadlines. Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is strongly preferred. Experience working with social media platforms and basic computer troubleshooting is a major plus. The candidate will be a self-starter with a willingness to learn.

Duties and Responsibilities

Recruitment

Ø  Responsible for the complete organization of search projects, including creating binders, collecting cover letter and resumes, and tracking applicants.

Ø  Post available jobs on various websites, including college alumni boards, association boards, and the PeopleFirst website.

Ø  Assist with the interview process by scheduling interviews, processing questions and conducting reference checks.

Ø  Notify applicants of their status by phone and/or e-mail. Write rejection letters.

Outplacement

Ø  Conduct a Career Portal orientation with clients, helping them understand and access all the tools and resources available to them.  

Ø  Be a resource for all outplacement clients, answering questions and offering support throughout their job search.

Ø  Process, format, and review client resumes and letters; create business cards.

HR Projects

Ø  Process and format proposals, company policies/employee handbooks, performance appraisals, and other documents.

Ø  Create PowerPoint presentations for Training and Development sessions, as needed.

Ø  Conduct online research on the latest trends in HR, and on specific topics as requested.

Other Duties

Ø  Answer and direct phone calls. Welcome clients and guests entering the office.

Ø  Update the PeopleFirst website on an as-needed basis.

Ø  Create and update PeopleFirst marketing materials.

Ø  Manage all Social Media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter)

Ø  Provide troubleshooting and technical support for the clients and partners. Use copy machine, printers, fax, etc. to complete assigned tasks.
